Junior Duncan Powell posted a career-high 23 points, boosting the Yellow Jackets to victory over Virginia Tech, 71-64 (READ MORE).

Yellow Jackets (16-3) prepares to battle a 15-4 overall Duke Blue Devils team this Sunday at home:

• Currently, Duke weighs in at No. 14 in the AP Top-25 poll and eighth in this week’s NCAA Evaluation Tool (NET) rankings

• Star freshman Toby Fournier received her third ACC Freshman of the Week recognition upon posting an average of 16.0 points, 8.5 boards, and 2.0 blocks in the team’s previous two matchups

Men’s Basketball (9-11) clashes with Notre Dame (8-10) next Tuesday to close out January competition:

• The Fighting Irish are coming off of a tough loss against Syracuse and will seek redemption as they take on the 2019 national champions Virginia

  • Despite the defeat, standout player Markus Burton mounted 28 points as teammate Braeden Shrewsberry followed with 16 points and six rebounds

  • The team shot 50% from field goal range and 55.6% from behind the arc, holding the orange to 39.3% shooting
